A Love Letter V-Day Popup Bar Review

If you’re looking for a girls night out idea or a Valentine’s experience that feels intimate, romantic, and thoughtfully crafted, you should visit A Love Letter pop-bar inside the Whisper Mill Speakeasy at 14 Mill Market in Nixa, MO. Hidden behind a secret entrance within the food hall, the Whisper Mill provides a warm, cozy, and more intimate speakeasy vibe.

For the Valentine’s season, the Whisper Mill transforms into The Love Letter, a limited‑time pop‑up celebrating romance, connection, and beautifully crafted cocktails. The atmosphere is soft, inviting, and perfect for a date night with dim lights, warm textures, and the feeling of being in on a charming little secret. The Whisper Mill speakeasy originally opened its doors in late 2025 with a Christmas‑themed pop‑up bar, and I visited with a friend and loved my experience and drinks. I was excited to return with my husband for their Valentine’s Day themed transformation.

Making Reservations

You can reservations online for $10 per person, and that fee includes a welcome cocktail to start the night. They do take walk‑ins as well, though availability isn’t guaranteed which makes reserving ahead worth it for peace of mind. I know that they booked up really quickly with their first pop-up season. Make reservations here!

They also are hosting a variety of V-Day themed events inside of the Whisper Mill speakeasy in February 2026. You can find more info on those here: 14 Mill Market Events.

The Cocktails

The drink menu for this pop‑up is perfectly on theme and has a variety of options, but my personal favorite was the La Rosa Paloma which was a Paloma with hibiscus that was so refreshing and delicious that I ended up ordering a second one. The artistry and balance in their cocktails really shine, and you can tell they take their mixology seriously. My husband also really enjoyed the Paloma and also got the Old Fashioned Carajillo which he really liked (and wasn’t sure originally if he would since it had chocolate bitters in it).

If you don’t see something on the cocktail menu that you like, you can order cocktails off menu, too. They have a really good selection and variety of alcohol, and their team is really talented at cocktail creation.

Food Options

For the Valentine’s pop‑up, the speakeasy offers a limited food menu inside. While it’s small, it pairs nicely with the cocktail list. Even better, you’re welcome to bring in food from any of the 14 Mill Market vendors and enjoy it inside the speakeasy while you drink which is really nice if you and your plus one (or more) are craving something different. My husband and I tried the burnt ends, and we basically inhaled them. They were perfectly seasoned and cooked, and we both loved them. We had to go to a full dinner event after visiting the popup so we weren’t able to try any other food…this time.

The food hall features a wide lineup of kitchens and treats to choose from. Check out their vendors here: 14 Mill Market Food Offerings.

Final Thoughts

Between the intimate ambiance, exceptional cocktails, convenient reservation system, and the unique charm of being tucked inside a hidden bar, A Love Letter offers one of a memorable Valentine’s experiences in the area. Whisper Mill continues to deliver cozy, themed pop‑ups that feel thoughtfully designed rather than gimmicky.

If you love secret spaces, seasonal cocktails, and a setting perfect for connection, this Valentine’s pop‑up should be at the top of your list.
